Little
Linda was ecstatic after 7 YEARS OF LIVING ART. She had finished
a big art-job and she had tons of red, orange, yellow, green, and
blue clothes: Little Linda red shoes, Little Linda yellow jackets,
Little Linda purple dresses... Ummm, and when she placed all the
clothes on the floor, the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and
purple clothes she made a rainbow. Little Linda sang and clapped
and danced around the rainbow she made. Her song was happy and she
was the most joyful she had ever been, just like a Saint felt, she
thought. Now I'm a real Art Saint. I want to do it again. I want
to be happy again and again and again.
So Little Linda pulled out all of her clothes from the attic and
renewed all of her vows but this time she made it real simple for
herself. She said "Chakras, you change me in your way! I'm not going
to boss you around anymore. I'm not going to sit in a colored room
or listen to a red, orange or yellow sound or talk in an accent.
I'm just going to be." I guess Little Linda was tired of talking
to the big bad wolf all alone and she began to ask for more and
more and more help.
For those seven years, 1991 - 1998, Little Linda made only one photograph
of herself, [()]
appeared astrally at the Chagall Chapel [()] seasonally and made a drawing with her left hand of the
drawings she did those first seven years with her right hand. What
a great big girl she was becoming. A good, not so good, and little
bit Holy Big Little Linda. Yes, maybe she really was a guru. Her
friend, Annie Sprinkle thought she looked real saintly and fabulous
and when she looked at photographs of herself that Annie took, she
thought she might really truly be an authentic saint too! [()]
WHAT LITTLE LINDA LEARNED FROM THE YEARS 1991 - 1998
1. If you are going to take a job, realize that it has its own rules
and regulations. To remain naive, self-referential and non-flexible
while playing in somebody else's playpen is cause for dismissal.
2. The second time-around things are done simpler. It is like having
a second child.
3. ANOTHER SEVEN YEARS OF LIVING ART was a fashion statement. The
disciplines became internal and secret and the clothes were indicators
of the art happening in real time plus cues for practicing awareness.
4. Not everyone can like everyone else but there are ways of showing
basic respect in the workplace. That's an art and should not be
seen as political schmoozing.
5. Being supported by colleagues births a feeling of compassion
in the recipient that is indescribable.
6. Letting go of a good thing sometimes makes room for better things.
7. Big Changes (job, marriage, deaths, illness) need big support.
8. Die daily to prepare for final retirement.
